I used to have full bars at my bed with iPhone X, now the Max only has 2. And it has trouble reconnect to the WIFI after airplane mode is turned on with WIFI turned on.

Same here on my XS (not Max). My X connected to 5ghz all the time, but even right next to my access point, the phone is kicking over to 2.4ghz. I suspect I'm going to have a tough time when I go to the office tomorrow and we have a 5ghz only network.
II just reset everything and I have the wifi-assist turn on and as soon I leave the room it switches to 4G instead of keeping 5G WiFi...
4G (and for that matter LTE and 5G) are cellular technologies entirely different and separate from WiFi.
Has anyone heard back from Apple after submitting logs? Just curious. Was really hoping to hear something today, but no go.
I haven’t heard anything since submitting my logs. I did return my Xs though. I’m going to stick with my working X for now. I did see that a charging issue has made the news though.
I have you also noticed a problem with the Bluetooth connection?
Many times in my car my Bluetooth breaks up when playing music or even when using my AirPods...
I did not experience any issues in that area.
My wife and I also have launch day delivered phones.
