My credit card keeps coming up with an error when I try to use it. Was told to contact iTunes support

unable to use my card for purchases on my phone. Just got an iPhone 8. It keeps telling me to contact iTunes support

Check that the billing information was entered correctly. If so, contact the iTunes Store staff.
