Missing purchased music from Library.

I have noticed throughout the years that my itunes library has been missing songs that I have purchased through iTunes store. What is strange is that the songs and albums are no longer in the iTunes store. The appare to have been deleted. For instance, Prince, just after he died i purchased (The Most Beautiful Girl In The World on the "Gold Experience Album") and now its no longer in the store so when upgrading and restoring my iPhone and using iCloud there is no more song neither in my itunes library on my pc or any of my apple products. In my estimate I am missing over 200 songs that I have paid for and no longer exist. In my Library there is the space and title but no data of the song. Has anyone else have been experiencing this kind of thing? I have been using itunes from 2007 and have spent a small fortune collecting music on this platform and need a straight answer as soon a possible. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, it is disapointing to know that purchases can be lost randomly when rights holders remove them from the itunes store. I have to now rethink about purchasing anything from itunes. Needless to say itunes consumers are doing nothing but buying access not owning anything. I guess this is simply a lessen for people like me that arr not with it as yet.. I have wasted a lot of money in my opinion.

See Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books - Apple Support in case of the items your missing have been hidden in your purchase history. Note that the ability to redownload past purchases from the iTunes Store depends on those items not having been removed. Rights holders may remove content from the store without notice. It doesn't happen often, but it happens. You should download your purchases, and back them up along with the rest of your library. If you want to change computers you also need to transfer your library, Signing into iTunes on a new computer will show your unhidden purchase history, but not anything else.

When content is removed from the store it isn't removed from your computer or any backups you may have. In addition the store only remembers your purchase history through iTunes, not other media that you may have ripped from CD or purchased from other services. See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for my suggested backup strategy.
