Thanks for being a part of Apple Support Communities. We're glad you're here. I understand you're trying to eliminate some video content from your iPad but this hasn't been possible. I also understand the content in question is a group movies you've rented from iTunes. If that is the case, I have some information that may help you with this.

iTunes content should be removable and become unavailable 48 hours after the content is consumed. If you've rented and downloaded the movies directly from the device, this article can help answer questions about this:

If you've rented the content via iTunes and then synced the movies to your iPad, the process may seem similar to steps in the article below:

In both instances the content should be deleted automatically after consumption. I'd recommend you restart your device and follow this article to manage your storage:

Thank you for your response. Considering the details provided, were the rentals downloaded over Wi-Fi directly to the iPad, or were they synced?

Nope. These are movies that I rented and already watched six months ago. Somehow, they will not delete from my ipad.
