how do i connect my ipod nano to a new pc

i have music on my ipod nano and I have never connected it to this new laptop. I have an account and have downloaded the app and updated the account. how do I connect the ipod nano to play it on the laptop?

How do I transfer music into my old IPod? I know it says IPod Nano 4th gen, but it didn't allow me to choose 3rd Gen, so I picked what was closer to it.
