At one time in history FUSE was used more readily OS X 10.4 and above—MacFUSE allows you to extend Mac OS X's native file handling capabilities via 3rd-party file systems. It is used as a software building block by "dozens" of products.
MacFUSE made it possible to implement a fully functional file system in a user-space. It provided multiple APIs, one of which is a superset of the FUSE (File-system in USEr space) API that originated on Linux.
Have not seen a call for it in a long time.
More information would be helpful if you truly need it ot not.
Hello,
FUSE is a kernel extension ported from Linux that allows you to install FUSE-based filesystems on a Mac. This would allow you to do something like mount a Zip file as a disk (which PCs have been able to do since forever) or attach to a Linux server that normally only provides a Terminal, SSH interface and work with it in the Finder.
If you dont know what FUSE is or what it does, you don't need it.
Except that an application told me I needed to update it.
What application? The current version is on the link I posted. 3.8.2
Could be a scam.
