Transferring to new computer without migration assistant

I have a new Mac Book Pro (MacBookPro14,3) that has USB C ports, my old MacBook Pro (2012) (MacBookPro10,1) has thunderbolt and USB ports. Migration assistant says it will take over 300 hours. Is there some arrangement of cables I can use instead that wont use my incredible slow internet?
