Which version of the Apple Watch? If you are referring to the Apple Watch GPS+Cellular, no it will not work. The cellular versions of the Watch are regional and the US version will only work in the US. You could use the device like the older versions of the Watch, with the paired phone, but not on its own.

They would work just fine, and the series 3 GPS only will work as well, since they use the paired phone for calls, etc.

2. Prices depend on the exact model of Apple Watch within a series. But Apple is no longer selling either the series 1 or series 2, so you will not find them in Apple stores anywhere to buy/

3. Currently available Apple watches for sale from Apple are the Series 3 and Series 4.

Not from Apple no. They have been discontinued. Apple does not keep older devices for sale eternally. Just like you cannot buy iPhone 5 or iPhone 6 from Apple any more. Or an old Apple ||e from 1988 anymore. Eventually Apple stops selling older devices.

Why not? Every company that makes products stops selling older ones at some point. Can you go to Samsung and buy something from them that they released 3 or 4 years ago?

Buy them from places like ebay or the like. If you were interested in an old car you would not got to a car dealership would you? You'd find one in the second hand market. Apple no longer makes or sells series 1 or 2 Apple watches.

At some point products get discontinued and companies stop selling them.

Yes, normally you need a credit card on ebay, You can also use Paypal.

Or you can use some other local service to you or a private sale between individuals where you can hand over cash to the seller.

Main point is, Apple does not sell those models of Apple Watch anymore. And there's no requirement they continue to sell them forever simply because you cannot pay with a credit card.

Yes. The series 1 and 2 will work with the iPhone normally anywhere in the world. There is no limitation there.

Yes, there 2 models of Apple Watch, the series 3 GPS+Cellular and the Series 4 GPS+Cellular, that can connect to a cellular network like a phone. They do not have a tradionaly sim card slot, as they use a virtual eSIM that is setup by the Cellular company. The eSIM is region based and US models will not work with carriers outside North America, and not all carriers even in north american support the virtual sim.

They are still not standalone devices either and still require an iPhone to setup and use.
