iPhone XS Max lightning port charging issue

That is not a solution to this problem as mentioned several times in this thread. I have my xsmax at hand and have tried all solutions mentioned on this thread. Nothing has changed the behavior at all.

so it's a security function and has been there from ios 11, just wondering why many people are complaining now?

I having the same issues, only yesterday was the first time I couldn’t wake my phone up.. It was frozen, couldn’t tap to wake.. I unplugged it and hit the buttons and it finally came on.. hope this update comes out soon and fixes this on the “ most advanced iPhones on the planet “

Hey I can tell you I have an old iphone 5S and never had troubles recharging until I did the software update so my suggestion is do not do a software update on your Dad's phone until this problem is resolved

just got my Xs Max and have the same issue... i assume after spending $1280 on the phone they will give me one to use or as a replacement before i mail mine in? I dont intend to go without a phone for 1 second after paying that price.. so whats the deal?

So I also having problems with my iPhone Xs Max, 512 gig space grey. Where I have too turn the cord around too the other side too ale it charge. I though it was me. But I guess not!! I just dropped 1,150. On this phone!! Is apple going too send a update or am I suppose to now get up in the middle of the night too make sure my iPhone that I just got is charging???? This makes me very in easy

Same problem here since launch day of the XS Max. I got an Xchange from the Apple store and the problem still occurs. I hate it when I need to unplug the charging cable and flip it to charge it. 2 replacements and the problem still occurs. Please someone leave a comment regarding any fix to their iPhones XS or XS Max. This is my 2nd replacement and my following issues are, charge gate issue, front top speaker doesn’t play music sometimes a reboot works but problem will reoccur a couple days after, poor WiFi connection esp when I FaceTime, some 3rd party mfi charging cables won’t even charger my phone at all. I owned iPhones since the iPhone 4 and I never had so many issues like my 256gb XS Max does. If I never had issues with this phone I would truly say this would be the best and most Xpensive phone I owned. Please comment to any fix.

I’ve been thru 2 replacements and yes problem still occurs. I have to flip my charging cable to charge it or wake the screen even some of my mfi cables won’t charge my phone at all.. my current issues are.. charge gate, front top speaker sometimes won’t work while listening to music, poor WiFi reception esp when I FaceTime. Please if anyone has a fix or solution please let us know. Btw I have a 256gb XS Max

I had an issue a couple weeks ago that my X just wouldn’t charge but out of no where it started charging again and I’m also having other issues with talking on the phone talk to chat and Siri where the screen just shuts off and I have to stop using audio to make it work again

Just came from independent professional service shop. 5s drains battery after ios 12 update. Cable, power source and phone connector tested ok. Phone even woke up from off state at first, when the said power source combination was used. So the phone "knows" power is available. Still refuses to charge. After a while battery is so drained that phone appears dead.

Changed battery at service as a test. Immidiate response. Everything works. But does not allow charging until battery is dead.

Smell strongly like a software issue.

So I have had quite a similar problem but instead of it being the lightning cable it happens to me when I am using the earphones. After some time that the phone is not being used while earphones are still plugged in. The sound would come out from the speakers even though my earphones are plugged in. So I just plug them in again and sound comes through the earphones. I am currently using the iPhone X’s max 256 gb.

Same issue here.

It completely freezes when I plug in the cable.

After taping around on the Display and Buttons on the side it sometimes starts an emergency call After the Display is Black for a while....

I use original apple loading Equipment.

Same issue here on my Silver XS max, was hoping it was a software issue fixable with and update, thinking about returning and getting new one

Anyone have any new information relating to this issue, is it hardware or software?
