I have just upgraded to Mojave through the app store from Seirra. It took for ever at the log in screen and then finally the WIFI is greyed out with a X and when you open a browser there is not connectivity. Late 2017 iMac
I am not running little snitch, it takes for ever to restart too.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

I solved the problem by doing a clean install of Mojave, and once the installation was finished I used Migration Assistant to migrate my applications, my settings, and my user folder—but NOT the “other files and folders”. Once I restarted, the problem was fixed. This solved both the internet problem and the slow login.
How do I do a clean install when Mojave wipedout both my WiFi and Ethernet capability, I’m dead in the water?

Same here. Removing Little SNITCH - and then updating.... and voilà: Mojave runs .....
Same experience here. I'll try when 10.14.1 arrives but thank goodness for Time Machine back-ups.

To add insult to injury, I just ran a traceroute in terminal, again not a problem. Traceroute 8.8.8.8 took me to google.com in 10 hops and 83ms
So why cant apps get out. Clearly the system can.
Not a vpn problem.
another interesting thing. If you ping an address it starts with success but wont stop without you closing Terminal.
Sorry - have been informed this is how Unix handles Ping requests.
To kill most unix apps, press ctrl+c

LATER that day: Mojave installed and running faultlessly. Don't like the message list view in Mail but I'm not the only one.
Can you repost the commands to rename the config file? Link seems to be broken.
