After upgrade to MacOS Mojave, I cannot login or connect to App Store.

I am using the latest MacBook Pro 2018 version. After upgrade to MacOS Mojave, I cannot sign out, login App Store or View my account. It always show "Cannot Connect to App Store". I also upgrade my iMac to MacOS Mojave, my iMac does not have this issue.

How can I fix this issue on my 2018 MacBook Pro?

Thank you

I found a solution that worked for me. It took me two steps, and all credit to BocaBoy in this thread: Re: Mojave installation fails: duplicate App Stores, can't sign in with Apple ID (Macbook Pro, Late 2016)

  1. Disable System Integrity Protection:
    1. Reboot the computer into restore mode (press command-R during startup)
    2. Select Terminal from the Utilities... menu
    3. Enter csrutil disable and press return
    4. Restart
  2. Back up and archive the folder in /Library/Security/Trust Settings before deleting them through Terminal. I'll copy BocaBoy's instructions here for you all:

OK, I just spoke with Apple engineering and they gave me a fix for this. It worked for me and it may work for you. You must know how to use Terminal and access hidden directories with Finder in the root of your drive.

First, make SURE that you've backed up the directory /Library/Security/Trust Settings. Copy it on your Desktop or Downloads directory, or wherever you'll be able to access it.

1. Again, back up the user certificate trust settings files described above. Then, remove them with the following commands, entering your administrator password when prompted:

cd "/Library/Security"

sudo ditto -ck "Trust Settings" TrustSettingsBackup.zip

cd "/Library/Security/Trust Settings"

sudo rm *.plist

2. Attempt to sign into the App Store.

This didn't work for me until I restarted at which point I was able to log in and see all of my accumulated updates. If you're not comfortable working at the system level, DON'T do this. If you are, this may fix your problem. It did for me.

Once you're sure that you've got the App Store working, you can delete the TrustSettingsBackup.zip file as well as the backup of the Trust Settings directory.

3. Reenable System Integrity Protection by repeating step 1 but using the command csrutil enable.

After I modified the Trust Settings directory, I was able to reboot and connect to the App Store and Books Store.

Good luck, everyone!

Fantastic, and thank you. I have a comment about using terminal, I'm just not that versed in terminal (sorry, I swear im still an apple devotee) and i was able to accomplish these steps in finder. I was able drag and drop a copy of *.plst to desktop, removed it from the directory, then restarted worked like a charm. Thank you so much for the guidence.

Library/Security are system folders under the root. I would tell you, as I did in my original post, to not attempt this fix if you're not comfortable working at the system level. There's way too much chance that you'll break something.

I feel pretty confident that this will be fixed in 12.14.1. If, however, you need it fixed faster, take it to the Genius Bar and have them run the commands for you.

Thanks for the info yes I am still having the problem after doing all you said in your past rsponse to another person. I did step by step and worked for a little while then went back on like 6-8 hours after and tried to get back on no luck having same issue I thought you had the fix for.

But do appreciate some insight to help fix my issue. Do you have any idea as to when next update would be?

Thank you once again we tried but no luck.

parrori1,

I did get my update but was in system preference is this how they are doing updates no no longer in the Apple Store? What did they update my Apple Store were my apps were working the first time but it did not fix that I logged into Apple store again and found no apps there. Why did they not include this with this long update like 45 minutes? They could of fixed the Apple store as well so it works but still does not work. Dies not show my apps only first time after restart and then shut down and was there as well but when I closed Apple store down they were gone again? I get them when I first log in when I shut down then rest of day they are gone? I need this fixed so if any Apple specialist is on here please see if this can be fixed as well with a update.

Thank you for all your help to all.

Re the updates, yes, you now go to the System Preference for app updates.

App store does have an update line, but it appears to show recent updates already added. App store is mainly for obtaining NEW apps I guess.

Updates to your existing apps are now found in the System Preferences icon that was formally used as the settings icon. That icon is still used as the iOS settings, just not the Mac.

As far as your new problems, you may want to call a Mac techie.

Click on the Apple logo, then click on the app store.

Lok at top of page, where it says "App Store", "Edit", "Store" "Window" and"Help" all in a row.

Click on Store icon and you will see a list of things:. Discover, search, work. Play. But look all the way down the Store open list and the next to last line says"View my account"

Click on view my account and then you will see apps.

After upgrade to MacOS Mojave, I cannot login or connect to App Store.
