Mojave is still not showing in the App Store. Every other app on my laptop that needs an update is showing and some are showing as incompatible now (presumably because they need Mojave). Tried safe mode, deleting the App Store cache, rebooting, getting terminal to check, but nothing.

It should work just as well if you use that link, as if you found it without going trough that link.
But I would recommend making sure you have a backup when updating software just in case (regardless of how you start it)
Yes, it’s a mid-2014 system. If I go via the featured page then I get the download link, but if I remember right when I did that with High Sierra/Sierra the laptop didn’t like me doing that
