iPhone XS Max - Yellow Tint

Hi All,

When looking at the iPhone XS Max direct there is a yellow tint, however, if you tilt it slightly upward or downward, the screen color looks perfect. Never had this issue on last years iPhone X.

- True Tone disabled.

- Night Shift disabled (also changed to less warm).

- Reduce White Point disabled.

- Color filter helps a little by adjusting the hue and intensity, but yellow tint still bleeds through a little.

Have any other fellow Apple users noticed this?

Thanks.

ATTENTION: YELLOW SCREEN IS SELF FIXABLE! I noticed this yellow tint on my iPhone XS Max and was obsessed on fixing it. Finally figured it out and it looks better then my previous iPhone X and earlier phones now. In fact, it’s perfect now. Follow my directions:

Disclaimer: Make sure True Tone and Nightshift are off first. If the yellow tint is still there, which it was in my case, here is the fix:

No More Yellow!

  1. Visit your Settings App > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Turn on Color Filters
  2. Tap Color Tint and verify it’s checked
  3. Navigate to the HUE slider and move it left or right until you reach your desired screen look. (I personally recommend this setting at around 35%)
  4. Then adjust the INTENSITY slider left or right to suit your preference (I personally recommend this setting at around 65%)

Want additional brightness?

Additional optional setting:

Visit your Settings App > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodations > TURN OFF Reduce White Point

I’ve attached a screenshot of my settings, If you have any questions, or want me to send you additional screenshots of the perfect settings, feel free to email me at **** and I’ll respond as soon as possible User uploaded file

Not Solved. I just checked my color filter it was on. Forgot iCloud restored all settings. So what I thought was a fixed phone is not. Still yellow if I turn off color filter. Ugh. It seems this is a defect all the way round. A couple of my friends have the same issue. Never and issue on the iPhone X model last year with smaller screen and produced by Samsung. Who knows what to do at this point. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is looking really good about now.

Yep, I already did that (stated in the prior post). That's why I thought the problem was fixed, but it was just my color filter settings that restored on the new phone from an icloud backup. If that was off, I would have definitely noticed in the Apple Store. But yep agreed, an issue with all phones. If I didn't purchase the Apple Watch S4 and have all Apple Devices know to man, I would be heavily thinking about returning iPhone for the GN9. I'm shocked Apple QC didn't pick up on this. True Apple fan here, but all of the Apple users paying $1,000+ for phones should be able to turn off True Tone and get the correct display without having to enable color filters with still having a slight yellow tint. They need to go back to Samsung manufacturing their OLEDS.
