Delete photos on one device after syncing.

I have an iPhone (older) and an iPad (newer) and what I want to do is: delete my non-personal photos from my iPhone, so that I could remove the personal ones from my iPad (and keep the rest there). When I first opened my iPad I synced everything from my iPhone there and later on clicked on "Keep Originals" (on iPad). What settings should I turn off on each device?

if you're using icloud photo library Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support what you do to one device will reflect on the other device.. eg delete from iphone it deletes from ipad.
