missing desktop and documents folder in icloud drive

Hi there,

I want to save all my mac files onto icloud and bought more storage. However, I can't sync my icloud drive and mac documents since I can't find Desktop and Documents under icloud. Please help!

I am trying to back up my files to Icloud, but i cannot find the Desktop and documents folder option under Icloud options. Is there a step i am missing? ICloud Drive desktop folder is still empty after 12 hours, not syncing with iCloud desktop folder online I had to install new hard drive could not transfer files from old drive. Started new hard drive as a new Mac. Signed in Enabled iCloud Drive, and checked iCloud Drive desktop and documents option but after 12 hours the Desktop is empty, and so is the Documents folder. If I check online, all my files are still there. But they are not showing on my computer, running macOS High Sierra. I have tried signing out again. In iCloud settings, I have checked Desktop and Documnet Folders to check that it syncs. How do I get the contents of Desktop and Documents to sync to my Mac?

iCloud won't store my Desktop and Documents folder When I try to turn it on, it claims I have too many files or too many nested folders to store desktop and documents in iCloud. Not very helpful. Is there really no other way to backup a MacBook to iCloud? (I have 2TB of storage - more than enough to hold the files I need)

In System Preferences > check mark iCloud Drive and then click on Options. Then checkmark Desktop & Documents.

But that’s the thing I can’t see ‘Desktop and Documents’ option. That option isn’t available
