Sound issue with Mojave

Has any one experienced sound issues after upgrading to Mojave? I have a 2013 iMac (3.5 GHz Intel Core i7). After upgrading to 10.14, internal speaker sound output has been reduced by roughly 50%. Additionally, my BT paired Beats Pill+ sound output is bear audible. Oddly enough, the internal speaker output returns to normal levels a few minutes after pairing with the Beats Pill+, despite no output from the Pill. I also note that the volume control in the Menu Bar is no longer synchronized with the volume control in iTunes. Despite pushing both to the maximum level, sound output with the internal speakers is significantly reduced unless the Pill+ is paired.

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), macOS Mojave (10.14)

Have you tried restarting Core Audio? It helped me and doesn't require a system restart. Open the Terminal.app and enter:

sudo killall coreaudiod

You will have to enter your user password.

In my case, this technique reset the sound volume and also seemed to made the sound clear again.

Also, I am not using Safari, so Safari doesn't seem to be the only source for this audio issue.

I had this problem too on my MacBook Air Mid 2013. I thought my laptop had some hardware problem. The volume was almost imperceptible this morning, and it occurred to me this morning that this only started happening since I installed Mojave. I rebooted, and the volume is fully restored. I'm wondering if it will continuously happen? I hope not - I do not want to reboot frequently to fix it! I hope Apple fixes this bug quickly.

After leaving the iMac over night, sound levels to both internal speakers & Beats Pill* are restored, although there is some occasional distortion now with the Pill+ using the iMac as a BT source. I again note that the volume control in the Menu Bar (& System Preferences) does not synchronize with the volume control in the Menu Bar. Bug maybe, or an annoying feature? Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

I also have issues after installing OS X 10.14 and particularly with Korg Audio Gate 4.0.3(r6) software in connection with USB Korg DS-DAC-10R. The program launches and works; but the audio input is overloaded and recording doesn't work.

The audio interface works correctly with some softwares (for example Cubase Pro both for recording and listening) but doesn't work with any other SW recorder (such as pure Vynil) that I tried as a replacement for Audio Gate. This is for me a major issue and I hope it will be amended soon.

I lost sound twice today while in Premeire Pro when the audio levels go high. I then get an intermittent clicking sound when I play audio in other apps. A restart fixed it the first time. Rather avoid a restart this time. This is a replacement iMac Pro, the last one, refurbished, did the same thing. I thought it was a hardware issue, which is why I replaced it with a new one. ):

After upgrading to Mojave, all my screen recordings have a hum!!! High Sierra had no problem with same equipment. This is a game changer. Logitech 390 USB mic and headphones. Late 2102 Mac Mini. Mac user since 1983. I get it OK. Coreaudio has possibly been changed since High Sierra to pick up 60 cycle hum or some other change to sound panel. I can't use this system the way it is. Thanks

Yes, after upgrading to Mojave I have a USB headphone buzz. I also get hum in all screen recordings with Mic and without. This is a deal breaker. USB Logitech 390 mic and headset. I had no problem in High Sierra. Same equipment. 2012 Mac Mini, nothing fancy. Bad news Apple! I am Electrical C-10, could have changed Core Audio to pick up 60 cycle hum. Has to be Mojave upgrade, because happened exactly after upgrade. I screen record and youtube every day.
