White screen for about 30 seconds

So I recently decided to boot my iMac (late 2012) through a External SSD.

Currently my Mac HDD is running high Seirra, but on my External SSD I downloaded Mojave.

It is currently plugged in one of the USB 3 ports.

Whenever I restart the the iMac the white screen stays for about 30 seconds and then the apple logo turns on. Once the apple logo is up it only takes 15-25seconds to boot up.

I was just wondering if there is any way to cut that 30 seconds of white screen out. I didn't patrician the SSD, just erased and changed the formatting in order to boot up with it.

How would I go about doing that?

I was just assuming you would go into startup disk in setting, but my only options is to reset or target disk mode. Am I suppose to look for NVRAM specifically somewhere?

haha yeah, I guess I just typed close enough to know I thought it was spelled and then let autocorrect do its thing. I will check the start up disk.
