(visually impaired user) Face ID unlock sound?

Hello good people of the internet!

I just got my Iphone XS "MAX" and enjoy the larger screen size compared to my 8+.

However, I'm not enjoying face ID. 😠

I'm having a hard time telling when face ID is unlocking my phone.

because I'm visually impaired and extremely near-sided, I cannot get face ID to work AND see the unlock icon on the screen.

Does anyone have a trick to get my phone to make a sound when a face ID unlock is successful?

I did a few google searches and could find nothing... except a Redit thread about Jailbreaking...

if this does not exist, could apple please look into this a little more? the main reason I stick to apple products is due to apples continued focus on helping People with this abilities.

Hey Keith,

Interesting question! The first thing to try, by way of experiment, might be to turn on VoiceOver (in Settings > General > Accessibility) to see whether this deactivates Face ID or otherwise makes some adjustment automatically.

Beyond that, here are a couple of things I've been able to find on this general topic.
