eBay contact buyer message text disappearing and reappearing as I type - Safari issue

Recently a new behavior cropped up on the eBay seller interface in Safari only, not a problem in other browsers. I have an eBay store. When I try to enter text in a “contact buyer” window, the text disappears as I am typing. If I continue typing, it reappears for a second and then disappears again. It acts as though the text is turning white intermittently, or a white window is coving it intermittently. It is impossible to write a message this way. If I write it in TextEdit and paste it in, it disappears immediately, but if I send the message anyway, and then check my eBay messages sent folder, it was sent correctly. Is this an eBay website/Safari incompatibility? Sending messages to sellers works fine, it's only the “contact buyer” composition window that seems affected. Safari 12.0

Mac mini, macOS Sierra (10.12.4)

Thank you for bringing this up and for naming the problem: Grammarly. I disabled it on Google Chrome, and now I no longer have this problem, which was making me crazy. Grammarly was also creating glitches for me on other sites. See ya, Grammarly!

Grammarly doesn't work with eBay on any browser. Doesn't work with Atlassian products properly either. It's buggy with a lot of sites. If you can't live without it just disable Grammarly for ebay.com*

Thanks Eric but I finally figured it out. The problem was with an extension called Grammerly, which apparently is not compatible with Safari. I disabled that and all is well.

Yes, something must have changed in Grammerly, since I was using it for a long time until it suddenly started behaving badly in eBay contact. Too bad, since it is such a cool tool. I hated to disable it, but I had to. I wonder if we were running some kind of trial version, and now we have to pay.

Thank you Eric, that was also my problem. Disabled Grammerly in Chrome and my contact to eBay users is working. Something must have changed as I have been using Grammerly for quite a while without any problem.

The funny thing is it works on one of my three PC's I have at home. All Windows10 with Chrome.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.
