Watch measures heat beat but does not record it

Weird

Apple Watch 2 - OS 5, iOS 12

Made settings are per other posts in Watch App

When I swim , can see heart beat symbol pulsing in the swim screen on watch , when stop, see detailed recovery - but when get home and all is saved, there is no heart beat info in iPhone Acticity App ( from Apple )

But when I look at another app or Heart Watch - it’s there

Hello, carlbkk.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

It's my understanding that the Activity app isn't recording your heart rate. I may be able to help with this. Does the Activity app record other activities with no issues? If you haven't done so already, restart both the Apple Watch and iPhone. Sometimes a restart can help resolve issues like this. I would also check to see your managed health data as shown in this article: Manage Health data on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch

View your data sources

Here's how to see which sources update data for specific Health categories:

  1. Open Health, then tap the Health Data tab.
  2. Tap a category, like Activity. You can also swipe down to reveal the search bar, then enter a category.
  3. Tap a data type, like Steps.
  4. Tap Data Sources & Access. Only the sources that contribute to that data type will appear.

Here's how to see all of your sources:

  1. Open Health, then tap the Sources tab.
  2. Tap an app or device.
  3. Choose categories that you want the source to access or update in the Health app.

    Prioritize data sources

Here's how to choose the sources that Health uses first:

  4. Open Health, then tap the Health Data tab.
  5. Tap a category, like Activity.
  6. Tap a data type, like Steps.
  7. Tap Data Sources & Access, then tap Edit.
  8. Touch and hold User uploaded file next to a data source, then drag it up or down in the list.
  9. To turn off a data source so that it doesn't contribute any more data for that category, tap the checkmark next to the source.
  10. When you're finished, tap Done.
  11. If multiple sources contribute the same data type, then the data source at the top will take priority over other sources. Any new apps or devices that you add go to the top of the list automatically, above your iPhone or iPod touch.

Let me know if this helps.

Cheers!

Hello, carlbkk.

Thank you for giving us an update. The next step would be to make sure you have all of your data backed up. Especially with your health data, check with your third party app developers to see how your data is saved. Once all of this is secure, try unpairing your Apple Watch and then pair again. This would put a fresh Watch OS back on to test to see if the issue still persists with heart rate. When you unpair the Apple Watch it will automatically create a backup on your iPhone. Here's a link just in case: Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Let us know how this goes.

Cheers!
