iPhone international warranty in India

many reports that

1. iphones in dubai don't have facetime at all

or

2. iphones in dubai which has facetime stop working if one leaves the country

if 2 is after date X and 1 is prior to date X I have no idea

many reports seem to be from Indians, not sure why dubai would be the go to place to buy iphones for indians

Still no. There is no international warranty on iPhone's period. Neither from the U.S. or anywhere else.

The international warranty in India rumour was never confirmed by Apple in any capacity and remains only a rumour and nothing else.

It doesn't matter where you purchase it, there is no international warranty.

If you want a device that you can have serviced in India, either in out out of warranty, then you need to buy a device in India.

A quick search of these forums should prove to you that the ability to get an iPhone sold outside of India serviced or replaced in India is, though not impossible, extremely unlikely.

It's not worth the risk.

Then you'll need to ask him how he did that.

There is no warranty, but maybe one of the Apple Authorized Service providers replaced the phone for some reason.

It's not something that should happen, or that generally is expected to happen. So you take your chances with the Service providers.

But again, this is outside any warranty. This would have had to bee a thing between your friend and the service provider entirely.

He was incredibly LUCKY. If you need one more confirmation. iPhone is not now, nor has it EVER come with international warranty. While there was a rumor that Apple was quietly offering international warranty in India, Apple has NEVER updated their warranty (which is available for you or anyone else to download and read) online at any time.

So, you can spend your hard earned $$ however you see fit. Just don't come back here upset if you need service for a phone bought outside your country and you are denied service.
