App Store not showing a complete sidebar.

I updated MacOS to Mojave on September 24. The App Store app only displays "updates" (not the other categories) on the sidebar with my Apple ID displayed below. If I search for a category such as "purchases" it will display. Why don't all categories show on the sidebar like is shown in the review articles at Apple and other publications?

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), macOS Mojave (10.14)

If you look in other threads regarding the Mac App Store being broken, a user is claiming that an Apple engineer told him that on some Macs the Mac App Store is broken in Mojave and you will have to wait for an update to fix the issue.
