Why can’t I make Group FaceTime calls?
IOS 12
iphone X
i tried to use the + sign in the FaceTime app and every time I add a secondary person it turns gray instead of blue and won’t let me call more than 1 person.

Actually, I have not had any problems. See this, Use Group FaceTime on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support Group video FaceTime requires an iPhone 6s or above. If you have an older device you can only use FaceTime audio, and all of the devices involved in FaceTime have to be on iOS 12.1.

I’ve updated to 12.1.4. The ability to add person while in convo DOES NOT WORK. People I am trying to do this with all have updated and have appropriate phones/pads etc. what’s up with this?? Please fix.
Apple has temporarily disabled Group FaceTime until they can roll out a software patch to fix a security issue.

This is wot I get when making Group FaceTime , both of the other phones are 6 or above and mine is an 8 all on the correct iOS
That option was not part of the initial release of iOS 12.
But I now have iOS 12.0.1 but ot still won't work.
Even with ios 12.1 now, i still cannot make group facetime.
Hi there, my iPhone XS Max, 256 go , just update to latest iOS 12.1 but cannot make Group FaceTime chat, only be able to select 1 person to do face time, the rest go grey out.
I have an iPhone 6s with the 12.1 update and still cannot use the group facetime
Check the support document that I linked. Make sure that all others are updating devices that can support Group FaceTime, and have updated to iOS 12.1.
I still cannot connect onto group FaceTime. I made sure that everyone was on 12.1 but when I try to add others it grays out the name.
exactly my problem as well. I don't know why others "disbelieve" us when we say "what is" and that we have followed directions....
Can anyone else confirm the IPhone 6 won't work with Group Facetime? Seems odds since it can do Facetime and has 12.1.2. Also what about the IPhone SE? thanks
when I tried to make group face time calls I have audio with no video
I have iPhone 6s with OS12.2 version and all my close contact have iphone6s or above plus OS12.2 . The moment I try to FaceTime with two of them it goes grey both audio and video .
