How to get voice to text to spell a name correctly

My husband's name is Bryan spelled with a y. Ever since I've been using voice to text it's driven me batty that SIRI spells it Brian and I can't do anything to correct it. It does it with other words as well. I live near a city called Charlevoix and SIRI always types Sharla Boy. Maddening.

Tonight I sat down determined to figure it out and I finally did. Follow these steps and let me know if it works for you!

Start by texting yourself a text message with the single word spelled correctly. Bryan. Charlevoix.

Go to Settings > Siri and search > all shortcuts then click "see all" across from Messages.

Under "recent shortcuts" you should see the message you just sent yourself with the word you wish to "fix".

Click on it and you will see a colorful circle and the words "Add to Siri". Click on the red button on the bottom and pronounce the word the way you'll pronounce it when using voice to text.

When the next screen pops up you'll see the word you just pronounced right in the center of the screen.

Click Done and go try it.

PLEASE let me know if this worked for you!! I was so excited!!
