I had an icoming call and by accident I clicked my power off button and it ended the call even though I was in the call for 5 minutes already. This has been happening since I upgraded to the IOS 12.How can I stop it from doing that?
You can't, the side or power button has always ended a call.

Yes, well, when anything is ON, it consumes power = drains the battery.
And, as mentioned, if a phone is off, it will not work. Neither will a computer or anything else.
It has never happened to me though because I always press the power off button in order to not waste battey and now I did that today and it ended my call.

Yes, for some reason if i have my phone off while in a call it wastes no battery but if i have it on it drains it.
If you turn the power off on the iPhone while you are on a call the phone won't work at all.
