Trackpad and external mouse works fine in everything EXCEPT warcraft 3 the game. Will work in the ingame menu but as soon as you start it just won't move. Can still click, so if you're hovering over a character and click it'll respond but the mouse cannot be moved.

finally found the solution for this:
Warcraft needs permission to use “accessibility” features: System Preferences → Security & Privacy → Privacy tab → Accessibility from left menu → unlock the dialog to make changes → allow Warcraft III to control the computer.
