Will do but I am far more concerned that the report suggests my Time Machine is not configured as I sure thought it was and it does back-ups.

Thanks for your help but so far nothing on the strange wake-from-sleep activity.

I downloaded and ran the latest version of Etrecheck and this is the new report. I see if I want almost any information I now have to purchase same which, if it will solve my problem is fine.

There is nothing to remove based on the latest report and I can't remove anything from the old report as Etrecheck was outdated.

Gracias Pedro, I have found that now if the Mac has been asleep for a long time it comes on immediately when I touch the space bar but if it has just put the display down is when it seems to be slow and flashes off then on again and really takes a long time but, only sometimes, to come back on. I tried totally removing the Track Pad and reinstalling it so I will see if that helps with the Mac finding the Track Pad right away.

Good to hear others have this problem too.

One more thing, Etrecheck says I am running low on RAM so I was watching my activity monitor and sure enough I am starting to run short so I have ordered another 8 gigs of RAM. If that helps I will advise.

My slow, flashing wake from sleep still occurs as does the slow sync of the track pad but at least I got rid of some junk.
