After upgrading to Mojave, I've lost the ability to play songs from my iTunes artwork screen saver.
I love my iTunes artwork screen saver. It reminds me of "long lost" albums I have in my library and keeps me acquainted with them. Please Help. This could kill me.
iMac with Retina 5K display, macOS Mojave (10.14)
Ok, I was able to get it to play tracks in the iTunes Artwork ScreenSaver, BUT only when i launched the screen saver from command line:
/System/Library/CoreServices/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEng ine -background &
If i use hot-corners or let the screen saver launch by itself, it will not allow the play button to work on the iTunes Artwork Screensaver.
I think it could be a problem of the new privacy-managment in mojave ...
By starting the screensaver out of the terminal it works but I always get this error-message:
"OpenScripting.framework - scripting addition "/Library/ScriptingAdditions/QXPScriptingAdditions.osax" cannot be used with the current OS because it has no OSAXHandlers entry in its Info.plist."
Started out of terminal you can click covers and music is plaid, started out of the settings-app or automatically, covers are only shown but they are not clickable ...
Is this discussion read by apple-coders or does there exist a another platform for bug-feedbacks where I should post this. I really want a working iTunes-screensaver back!!!
Hopefully it will be fixed in 10.15... Also I remember Sierra (all versions) had a serious bug - if within an app (like Logic etc) you opened a finder window to choose a file to import and you couldn't select a file if you had icon view... that was fixed in High Sierra and Mojave. Hopefully the screen saver will be back in working order in the next macOS version (10.15). Fingers crossed...
Can confirm, Mojave running on Mac Mini late-2012, unable to play albums from the iTunes Artwork screensaver. Clicking on album cover play button does nothing.
Same behavior. I can reproduce this on 2017 MacBook.
Macbook Pro Early 2015, can reproduce too. Is there another way to play without using Terminal?

I just contact apple support, they suggest me reinstall macOS, but it still didn't work.
I have the same problem as well. I posted a question on the support but no replies. I think the feature is bugged at the moment.
What's going on, community? Any resolution on this?
I've just run latest Mojave update (10.14.2) And STILL have this problem. C'mon Apple.
The only workaround at the moment is to run the command line in the Terminal listed above.

I've got Mojave 10.14.2 on my new MacBook Pro. None of my iTunes music is in iCloud but the Artwork screensaver still won't play any of my albums.
I’m having the same issue with a MacBook Pro, 15-inch 2018, under 10.14.3. I really hope they figure this out and release a fix.
Did mojave 10.14.3 fix this? Have you upgraded? I have the same issue with 10.14.2. Thanks
Sierra has even a greater bug! Related to the icon view... trust me, that’s why I upgraded to mojave...
Nope. Still doesn't work. It opens iTunes but doesn't play.
