I am running 10.3.4 but when I go to the App Store I click on the install button but I get a message saying:
Final Cut Pro X is already installed on this computer. Open App Store to check for available updates.
I check my updates and Final Cut is not available. I am running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 on a Mac Pro. Thanks for your help.

Drag the application to the tras but don’t empty it just yet.
Go to the App Store click on Purchased, sign in, and click Download.
Libraries will be updated the first time you open them with the new version.
You may want to do a backup of the libraries and the application before updating.
