Blackmagic eGPU compatibility with my iMac

I am considering buying a blackmagic eGPU to boost my mac's GPU powers.

However, I saw that blackmagic eGPU is only compatible with Macs with thunderbolt 3 ports.

My iMac (late 2014 model) does not have thunderbolt 3 ports.

Would it be possible to connect the blackmagic eGPU to my iMac by using some sort of adapters?

If yes, would it result in a drop in performance?

I tried to do some search but could not find such adapters...

Any help would be appreciated.
