iTunes not recognizing iPhone

Question

iTunes not recognizing iPhone

iPhone is iOS 12, iMac is running High Sierra 13.6, iTunes version is 12.8. Nothing I've done is getting iTunes to recognize the iPhone.

Any ideas?

See If your iOS 12 device isn't recognized by iTunes, you might need to upgrade macOS or iTunes - Apple Support.

You're not alone. Reinstall iTunes 12.8 while your unlocked device is connected to USB. You should be prompted to download additional software which will allow iTunes 12.8 to see your iOS 12 device. The success rate of these steps is high.

iTunes is the latest version and the High Sierra 13.6 is the latest, except for Mojave, which was only released 7 days ago. Clearly should be working.
