airpods not working on mac os mojave

Hi,

After updating to Mac OS Mojave I have noticed issues with playing audio on AirPods. I get the ding once connected but no audio is played or there is a delay in the audio being played.

Am I the only one facing this issue or is there any one else facing this misery. The AirPods work perfect with my iPhone and was woking well with high Sierra too. I have tried rebooting and re-pairing nothing worked so far.

Please let me know if there is a solution or should I just be waiting for apple to release a fix 😕.

Thanks.

Quick fix:
1. Goto Bluetooth Preferences

2. Remove your air pods from the list. They will either get removed, or they wont. Sometimes it gets stuck and it wont let you remove them.

3. Either way, simply restart your mac and go through the pairing process again. It should work after that. It did for me.

Here are the official steps for pairing your air pods again:

  1. On your Mac, choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu, then click Bluetooth User uploaded file.
  2. Make sure that Bluetooth is on.
  3. With your AirPods in the charging case, open the lid.
  4. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light flashes white.
  5. Select your AirPods in the Devices list, then click Connect.
