Data with App

After downloading iOS 12 on my iPhone SE I've noticed that the Health App is not updating the data continuously (as in my case steps). With previous iOS updates, the Health App would continuously update data as I go through the day. Now it seems like the only way I'm able to update the data is to physically move back one a day in the calendar within the Health App, then return to the current day and its update. Anyone else experiencing that quirk could it be a glitch in the new iOS 12? Thoughts please and thanks.
