it's some days that Netflix isn't working anymore on Safari giving me this error while on Chrome it works fine. https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23742
I've Safari 12 on OS 13.6 on iMac late 2009 (so I can't install Mojave).
Why isn't it working on Safari?
I read that Silverlight isn't compatible with Safari 12 so I can't install it.
Does HTML5 work on my machine?

There is some info in this thread about HTML5 support that lets uses of newer iMacs still use Netflix:
It suggests iMacs before 2011 are not capable of the HTML5 option. Try FireFox. Chrome is too much of a resource hog for me to recommend it in good conscience.

Check Safari Preferences > Websites > Content Blockers and see if it's enabled for Netflix. If so, disable it.
Do you have an ad blocker installed in Safari? Safari 12 works for me on Amazon Prime Videos and Netflix. It also doesn't need plugins for either.
What about just using Chrome or even Mozilla Firefox OR Waterfox Web browsers for Netflix?
Netflix doesn't use Silverlight. Chrome works so HTML5 works. Did you contact Netflix?

Also, you will not be able to install Mojave on a 2009 iMac as Metal is a GPU requirement and this only became available in 2012 iMacs and later. Metal is required in order to run Mojave. Yes, I have. I've tried to removed it and it still doesn't work.
Chrome works fine for the user as mentioned in the OP.
I red that thread and I haven't solved the problem.
I've tried to instal the Flash player but nothing.
Is there any way to downgrade to Safari 11?
