Find the model number you want in the doc I linked, Axxxx, and see where it is available. There is one caution, avoid Middle East (UAE, etc) because their devices are hardware locked to block FaceTime. Apart from that you should check with your intended network that they will accept and activate an imported device. Also note Apple / India has added the Series 4 on the list, which suggests they might be intending local supply sooner rather than later.
Also be aware an imported device will probably not be accepted for warranty in India if there is a problem. You would have to return it to the country where it was purchased, which might cost more in flights than the device is worth.
Hi! Have you bought the Series 4 and is it working on Airtel? As the one brought from India itself is not working on Airtel and is working fine with Jio. Have you tried pairing it will Airtel? Kindly let me know, it will be a great help.
Thanks
I have the same problem with Airtel. Just to check on my side, I tried on Jio which took 30 seconds for activation. Working with Airtel support team for past 5 days to resolve this issue. They confirmed that they have IP routing issue. It might take some days/weeks before the problem is solved. Frustrating
Thanks for your reply. From the list provided, would buying in any of the other regions mentioned be of any help.
