Hard shell Snap On Case?

Hello

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro (A1989) and I was considering purchasing a snap on hard shell case for it because admittedly I can be sorta clumsy at times. I was all set to go until I saw this video (I'll post it below) on youtube of a guy saying he had gone to an apple store and asked about getting as hard shell and the genius had told him not to buy one because they've had problems with the hinges of the screens getting loose from the extra weight. Now I realize this video is a little bit older and him and I haver different MacBooks but I am trying to gauge if there is any truth/relevance to this. Does anyone know or can anyone speak to their own experience if having a snap on hard shell case has compromised your device? Does apple have a statement somewhere addressing this as to their official opinion/stance is on third party after market accessories such as this (not stuff like charging cables)?

Thanks in advance

I'd suggest going to your nearest Apple store and ask them. Bring along your laptop and a link or pic of the case you want to buy.
