High Sierra has slowed down Ableton Live 9

Hello

I have a macbook pro 13 inch (mid 2012) and recently upgraded to high sierra (which i'm really regretting). I use a music program called ableton and since upgrading to high sierra, my mac has slowed down and ableton is a big casualty. The cpu runs high quite easily and can cause ableton to lag/have audio dropouts. I did a check EtreCheck Pro and here are the results. I'm thinking of upgrading to an SSD but i was told that this won't necessarily help with making ableton run faster. Anyway i thought i'd check on here to see if anyone could help.
