Export EDITED photos from iphone, AND keep original date stamp

Hello, I am trying to find a way to export my edited pictures from iphone to Mac that would keep also the original date/time of the pictures. I can do both separately but not together.

Eg:

1) When I export my pictures from my iphone to my Mac with image capture, the original date/time are kept, BUT not the edits (they come as separate .AAE files)

2) When I export my pictures from my iphone to my Mac with Airdrop or Photo, the edits are kept but the original date/time are lost (pictures are all saved with today's date)

Can you help? Is there a way to export that would keep both the edits and original date?

I am not an expert but looked online and couldn't find a a way to do it. What am i missing ?

Thank you!!

iPhone 7, iOS 11.4.1

After you download the items with Photos from your iCloud Photo Library, you can select them all at once in Photos with ⌘A and use the command "File > Export > Export ... Photos" to save the edited versions to a folder outside of Photos, or "File > Export > Export ... unmodified originals" to save the precious, unmodified originals. I would always save and keep the originals, because they have the better quality than the edited versions, and they make it possible to correct the edits you applied.

The original date stamp is kept in the metadata within the picture, not the metadata of the new file created to hold the modified copy of the picture.

If you want to force the new file to carry the original capture date of the picture, there are third-party applications that can read the interior metadata and forge the file date to match. I use GraphicConverter for that; others here have cited other programs.
