IOS 12 - Apple music shuffle is stuck on, but the shuffle or play button does not light up anymore. whether i cluck shuffle or not it still shuffles. i cannot deactivate shuffle.

Pull up the album with the song list.

Tap on Song Playing at the bottom of the screen. (It should take you to a screen with the album cover in the top half of the screen and Play/Pause with Volume Control at the bottom)

Swipe Up on this screen to expose Shuffle, Repeat controls and upcoming songs list.

Tap Shuffle button to turn it on/off.

See, everyone keeps saying to do that, but literally none of that is popping up on my screen....the only options I’m given is to add what should be next in the queue, but even then, the song doesn’t come up in the queue, it just continues to shuffle. I’m updated with all the new IOS, I have the iPhone 8, and still none of what anyone is saying is actually appearing.

Claerwen7, I was having your same problem. I followed Thomas's tip and it worked. Just to make sure, confirm that you did the following:

1. Click on the last song in your playlist; this causes that song to display as a bar at the bottom of your screen (sandwiched between the "library/For you/Browse..." menu bar at the bottom of the screen and your playlist at the top)
2. Press on bar that shows the song that is currently playing (this brings up the album cover and controls)
3. Swipe up (this brings up the shuffle/repeat buttons and the Up Next list)
4. Press the shuffle button to toggle it on/off as you please; I was able to toggle shuffle here, even though I couldn't toggle it elsewhere.

Now my problem is I got crappy music; but that's a whole 'notha post.

If that's what you did but it's still not working, then I'm not sure how to fix it. Good luck.
