iMessage going to wrong person

Not a bug, this will happen if they share the same apple id for imessage/facetime, they each need their own apple id.

Why is iMessage combining two contacts into one thread. I can only text back the last one that messaged me. This started…

It is not a bug. Take a look at some of those discussions. The last one has had over 1,000 views.

its not a bug.. .you should never share the same apple id for imessage or facetime, that is why apple introduce family sharing ...

We are going through the same thing, my wife's texts to my daughter are going to my son, this is horrible apple, FIX THIS RIGHT AWAY,

We have to worry about what you are texting and to who because of you don't know who going to get it and more importantly when we need to text my daughter we can't.

This is inexcusable apple, and the fact the it's NOT being fixed is even worse.

Funny you say this razmee209 but that is not the case. I made a new apply ID my wife did and my parents and guess what. My mom still gets my text when they are suppose to go to my wife. So you are incorrect. You don’t know what is going on until it happens to you. This is a joke and should be way more simple.

I set up new apple id's for my kids and it is still doing it. Any ideas?

I had same problem Mackenzie73. After I set up the ids, I had to delete the text strings. All of them. Save what you need out of them. Once I did that - poof- all was good. Try it. Good luck!
