Gmail error "the identity of imap.gmail.com cannot be verified by mail".

I cannot get my daughters gmail account to work. She is getting an error everytime that says "the identity of imap.gmail.com cannot be verified by mail". I've tried deleting the email account but now I am unable to add any google emails. I click on Google and the gmail page pops up but then immediately disappears. I can't access gmail through safari either, I get the same error. I am also unable to access the App Store or iTunes Store.

I see that you're unable to add your daughter's gmail address to the Mail application on your iPad. You keep receiving a message that "the identity of imap.gmail.com cannot be verified by mail". You're also unable to access Google's mail site through a browser, and you can't connect to the iTunes Store or App Store. I'm happy to help.

If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Books -- Review the information and apply the steps provided in this article for when you're unable to connect to these stores.
