Iphone deletes messages automatically

Hello,

I had iPhone 5 for a few years, and one day, it just stopped getting text messages (both regular and Imessages). I mean that I didn't get any banner, and saw the message just when I entered the messages box. The serious problem was that every time I closed the app and entered again, the text box was COMPLETELY empty. many people tried to solve this problem, and of course, it's not a problem in the setting- I checked hundred times that the iPhone is on "keeps messages forever". I searched all over the internet and tried everything: resetting all setting, resetting network setting, changing a SIM card, updating softwares (currently have iOS 12) and even opening a new Apple ID account. Nothing worked and I thought it was probably a bug in the device.

A few weeks ago I purchased a new iPhone X. I was sure the problem would be solved, but I was shocked to find out that I have exactly the same problem. Nobody who saw this knows the problem, and everybody says it's a bug. I don't think it makes any sense that I have exactly the same bug in both phones, but I don't know where the problem is and can't fix it. This is super frustrating.

Did anyone heard of such a thing or have an idea? please help me

Hello,

Let me think with you to solve this problem.

1- Did you use the new iPhone with previous backup from your old one?

2- Did you try to change carrier “the company provide mobile service”? Unless to know if there is problems with current carrier.

Did you try to start the device as fresh iPhone without restoring your backup?

You can just backup your device in iTunes, then Erase all data from your device and start as a new iPhone.

If the problem fixed, you probable have something from your data in your iPhone transfer from old device to the new.

This might not solve your entire problem, but I notice you mentioned you don’t get banners for text notifications. Have you tried going to settings and clicking on notifications, and then scrolling down to “messages”? There you can turn banners on and off.

1. Yes I have some backup from iCloud

2. I took it to the carrier many times and they are saying it’s not their problem. My family is in the same carrier too and they don’t have such a problem. I even tried to switch SIM cards with my mother, and saw that it’s not a problem in my SIM card either because when the card was in my mother’s iPhone, it got messages properly and save them, and my iPhone in contrast kept having the same problem although it had another number and another SIM card.
