When I back up my iCloud on my iPhone the photos aren’t transferring onto my iCloud, it’s said it’s been updated but the last photo saved is from may. I still have space on my iCloud so how do I get the photos on my phone onto my Mac??

Try Settings/Your Name/iCloud and slide off Photos syncing. Wait a few minutes and then slide syncing on.
Last resort - have you tried signing out of iCloud and then sign back in?
