The iPhone XR is released in a few weeks and I want to know what the R is for, I know the S in iPhone XS means speed but Apple never addressed why the iPhone XR is called the iPhone XR.

It was suggested when the iPhone XR was announced that the "R" reminds us the iPhone will have a Liquid Retina HD display.
Liquid Retina is what's new.
iPhone 5c the C stands for multiple iPhone colours, and in this case the R is also offering multiple colours, can the word R be representative for something related to colours? apart from Liquid Retina which has industry leading colour reproduction.

yeah it is new, but it is LR not just R. But i guess can be suggested into an R 😝

iphone XR ( R ) stands for = Rainbow, also we have six colors of iphone xr.
Retina applies to all iPhones since iPhone 4.
