ThinkorSwim and other apps no longer work

User uploaded fileHello

I upgraded to Mojave over the weekend and I cant not get Thinkorswim my trading platform to install. It comes across as unsigned....so no older or current download will work. To allow unsigned third party apps option is no longer available as well...what do I do....keeps saying its damaged and its not as well ....thanks!!!

Fixed it.

Go > Utilities > Terminal

2. Type in: sudo spctl --master-disable

3. Navigate to the Apple icon in the top left > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Under the “Allow apps downloaded from:” section set the setting to “Anywhere”.

4. Install thinkorswim by double clicking on the downloaded installer (even if it previously said it was damaged)

5. After install thinkorswim and would like to revert the Gatekeeper setting simply run this command in terminal “sudo spctl --master-enable”.

Thanks

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this! Worked perfectly.

In Mojave..applications will say obtained from apple, mac app store or identified developer...every application that says unknown in my list..including my printer didnt work. In all my previous versions I never had an issue either like you. Like I said, they are tweaking things and trying to push developers to certify all apps thru the Mac store in a similiar fashion as IOS. Remember..Apple is attempting to standardize all OSs and frameworks to work exactly the same way. Apple wants to certify everything on your Mac..and eventually you will only be able to download from the store and all developers will be forced to publish. This is them testing the waters and giving ample warning to third party developers...in my opinion. Have a good one.

So this is why my printer/scanner is no longer working properly! How did you get your printer to work again, or did you? *Same as above --master-disable?
