Siri doesn't understand me even though she does?

I have a Series 3 Apple Watch running watchOS 5.0.1 paired to an iPhone Xs Max running iOS 12. I have a HomeKit scene where if I say, "good night", Siri turns off all the lights and locks the doors. It works 99% of the time. However, I'll occasionally get this:

Clearly, she knew I said "good night" otherwise it wouldn't be transcribed as such. Yet, she then replies with a message saying she didn't understand it. Then if I say, "good night" again, she'll run the scene. Is this a glitch I can somehow avoid? What am I missing?

Hello mrbofus,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that there are times when Siri hears you but doesn't complete the command sequence for your HomeKit. If this issue increases over time, you may want to use the steps from the following article as they relate directly with Siri and what to do if Siri does not hear you correctly.
