Wondering if I can spray paint my iPhone SE housing, will the paint stick? Warranty is already expired so nothing to worry about there. I would like to try this before buying a case/custom housing. Recommendations?

Yes, I'm sure they are.
Painting a cellular telephone, especially one with good-looking lines, is not something that occurs to me. But I suppose people do it.

You can do whatever you like ... run over the iPhone with a truck, saw it in half, drop it out of a balloon ...
Just don't expect it to work after these frivolous activities.
You will need to carefully cover all possible areas of ingress to the phone and find paint that will adhere to glass and metal. Or contact Colorware and have them do it.
I think their odds are far better with the paint...
