Graphics glitch Mojave: horizontal scan lines

I have a recurring issue on my 15" Macbook Pro (2016, Radeon Pro 450 + Intel HD Graphics 530), where the screen displays long, horizontal lines at somewhat random places (like a glitch pattern). It occurs in many situations:

  • Regularly occurs during video playback (in any application)
  • Always when selecting cells in a Google Sheets spread sheet
  • Sometimes on the dock, Finder or even the lock screen

The issue occurs in both dark en light mode, also when all 3rd party apps are closed. Restarting does not help. All latest updates are installed. The issue seems somehow related to the rendering processes of the apps themselves, but occurs outside the boundaries of the app window as well. See the attached image for a mild example of the problem (note that the issue does not appear when taking a screenshot).

Is this a known issue? Is any solution available or coming?

I think I have identified the problem, it is related to the color blue. The issue disappears when shifting the color temperature (e.g. enabling night shift). It seems to be a hardware problem (display connection in the hinge), as the problem also disappears when the lid is almost closed. Seems mere coincidence that it happened when I updated to Mojave. Will send in for repair likely. Any insights would still be appreciated
