If you prefer to work with the sidebar instead of the Album view, there is another way to delete albums.
Which version of Photos are you using? You can also select the album in the sidebar and ctrl-click or right-click the album and use "Delete album" from the contextual menu. In older versions of Photos you can reveal the sidebar with View > Show Sidebar or press Command-Option-S. I prefer the sidebar, because it is much easier to work with nested folders this way.

Under View at the top of the screen, select Albums. Then when you have that view showing, select the album you want to delete and tap on the Delete button on the keyboard.

Thanks léonie! I was not aware of that alternative way of deleting, but glad to know it now 🙂

And I was not aware, how easy it is in the album view, because I rarely use it. Always learning something new here in these forums 🙂
