Logic Pro X Won’t Let Me Record

I have my focusrite set up to my computer, Logic Pro X is recognizing the focusrite in the output and input tab but when I try to record nothing pops up, it doesn’t even show that it hears me. I can hear myself in my headphones but it doesn’t show up when I press record. My set up is Shure SM7B connected to DBX 286s, which is connected to my focusrite which is connected to my IMac.

What do you mean by the output and Input tab? Do you mean in Logic's Preferences/Audio?

What Focusrite Interface? Does the Focusrite interface show Input levels? If not start there.

In Logic, you have created Audio tracks? Do you have the correct Input set on the Audio channel strip?

With a single mic you will use a MONO audio track set to the correct input.
